Styling Your Engagement Session with Tulle Skirts

For this stylish Las Vegas engagement session, we went with the couple to Eldorado Dry Lake Bed, which is a sink lake in Eldorado Valley. This place is a photographer’s dream, with breathtaking views of the mountains and one-of-a-kind scenery.

Despite the fact that it looked warm, it was actually freezing and the wind was so powerful that the bride-to-be’s hair (and ours) was flying everywhere. I truly love when the wind bows just right – adding motion to an otherwise stationary photo.

I had always wanted to use a chiffon/tulle flowy skirt for a session, so I bought one along, even though it took up my entire checked bag and also the entire closet in our hotel room!

In fact, we brought a lot of dresses in case we were inspired to have another shoot. Curating clients’ outfits can really play a large role in keeping your photography style consistent as well as unique to you. I still offer clients clothing options in my style closet, and this is something that’s relatively easy and inexpensive to offer your couples, as well.

Sometimes, when you are growing and honing in on your photography style, you have to create sessions that give you the opportunity to try new things, and bring along lots of options to test different looks and approaches.
