Elegance, simplicity, and a lovely array of neutrals made Kirsten and Michael’s wedding simply glow! The couple incorporated some lovely details from the groom’s occupation as a medical officer for the U.S. Navy, things that made their day truly memorable and unique for them, without overshadowing the romance of this wonderful day.
The two met online, and had a sweet first date viewing art and dancing in the streets during Gallery Night, which is Pensacola’s version of a “First Friday” or a “Downtown Get-Down.” After a second date at the Pensacola Interstate Fair and a romantic Ferris wheel ride together, their love was off to a beautiful start that led to this special day between them and their loved ones.
The couple had some touching moments together as they enjoyed this special day together, from first looks, to sharing some genuine laughs as we took photos to capture their love on camera.
The Ceremony
The two were married at the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle, better known as St. Matthew’s Cathedral, with gorgeous floral arrangements by Lisa at The Rosy Posy.
There were some unique aspects to the decor and other wedding elements to touch on Michael’s naval background, including Michael’s eagle cufflinks, the Navy Medical Corps insignia detail on the cake, and a special military dedication and even a very traditional sword ceremony that took place on the steps of St. Matthew’s Cathedral.
Michael and Kirsten’s wedding celebration was organized by Liz at Something New Events. Kirsten’s makeup and hair was by Monica at Makeup by Ana B.
The reception took place at St. Francis Hall, with catering by Putting on the Ritz, DJ and Photobooth by Bryan George Music, and Bistro String Lighting by Febro Alvarez. Megan from Sweet and Savory made the cake, and the couple’s transportation was from DC Limo and Car Service.
